You know how it works. You’re cleaning out your attic or garage and find that box of old movie reels. The problem is the movie projector you had to watch them is long gone! No worries! We transfer the three main formats of movie film: 16 mm film, Regular 8 mm film, and Super 8 film.
How Film Reel Transfers Work
1.
Gather your film reels and number your movie reels or boxes in the order you want them to be digitized or put on DVD.
2.
If you would like a title at the beginning before reel #1 please provide.
3.
Drop off your reels or ship them to our location.

Once your reels have been received, our staff will estimate the amount of film you have and contact you with a price estimate before we start the transfer process.
5.
Our experienced staff will carefully handle each of your movie reels through our digitizing process, and call you once your order is completed. You will also receive all of the original reels back with your order.
NOTE: No projector? Try holding the film up near a bright window or lamp to see the beginning frames, a magnified glass helps.
Pricing
The price is per foot. Create A Video only charges for the footage that is actually transferred. If there is more than 2 sec of no footage, we edit that out.
Convert Film Reels to DVD or Digital Files
- Starting package of first 250 feet at $49.95
- Additional Footage over 250 feet is 15¢ per foot
- All orders include color and brightness correction, and you will not be charged for blank or unusable footage.
Backups
Keep your memories extra safe! We’ll back up your footage on one of our 64 GB flash drives for an additional
- $25.00 for each 64GB 3.0 flash drive
- $9.95 for additional DVD copies
***Turnaround depends upon the amount of film that you have transferred, but typical orders take 1-2 weeks to complete.
