With the holiday season winding down, the New Year is right around the corner. If you are anything like us, you are probably thinking of resolutions to make 2020 the best year yet!
There are many areas that we want to improve on, but one is especially near and dear to our hearts and that is saving our memories. Here are three resolutions we are committing to in order to make 2020 the year that we get serious about saving our memories!
Have everything digitized.
Home movie film, VHS/camcorder tapes, photos and slides are all subject to decay and need to be transferred to digital. This doesn’t have to happen all at once. Working in batches is definitely an economical (and sanity saving) way to go!
Make time once a month to edit and back up digital photos.
The average person takes around 150 photos per month on their phone. That’s 1,800 photos a year! Taking time to sit down once a month and edit out the poor quality and reference photos (recipe screenshots, anyone?) will save a lot of time in the long run. Ensuring that your back ups are up to date can save a lot of grief in the future.
Create albums of favorite photos quarterly.
We know! We know! One of the main points of digitizing everything is to reduce physical clutter. But there is just something so nice about sitting down with a real album or photo book to relive special moments. Organized photo albums and photo books display nicely in a bookshelf and make lovely keepsakes for future generations.
With a little work and a lot of organization, we KNOW we can make 2020 the year of saving our memories. How about you? What are you looking to improve in the new year? Let us know in the comments below!
